I always hear people saying that there’s “nothing to watch on Netflix.” As in, Netflix Instant streaming. Well, I beg to differ.
And so, here is a list I’ve compiled of a random variety of shows to watch on Netflix Instant Streaming.

Adaptation
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Charlie Kaufman, Meryl Streep, Orchids- what’s not to love. And 2 Nicholas Cages?!
The Vicious Kind
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Adam Scott is beautiful. Well written. If you think you’re crazy, these people will make you feel a lot better about yourself.
Detachment
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Great acting. Well written. I have new respect for Adrien Brody after seeing this.
Harold and Maude
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: This cult classic is always uplifting. Sure to make you look at life just a bit differently. Cat Stevens for the entire soundtrack? Yes please.
UPDATE: This movie has since been removed from Netflix. Super sad face. Still worth finding!
Safety Not Guaranteed
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: One of those great movies where fantasy and reality are intertwined in a non-cheesy way. Aubrey Plaza rules.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Oh. Em. Gee. This movie pushes the envelope & comments on the insanity of our present day culture norm.
The Giant Mechanical Man
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Heartwarming, sweet, and real. Believable characters. Jenna Fischer owns it.
Rid Of Me
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Super dry humor, this movie is like Mean Girls for adult indie chicks. Yeah, i’ve watched it a few times. PLUS: Awesome music.
Submarine
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Great dialogue, characters, despite all the British-ness. (I kid.) Cinematography to die for. Don’t miss this one.
The Future
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Lighthearted and fun film. Has it’s own sense of humor.
Humboldt County
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: For a movie I expected to be a complete stoner film, this was actually really good. Also surprisingly, quite a few actors I recognized.
Young Adult
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Charlize Theron is always amazing. Patton Oswalt seems like the real star of this film.
Buffalo 66
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Cult classic with a very young Christina Ricci. Heartwarming, surprisingly. Heart cookies.
