I’ll admit it: I’m a fan of all things paranormal, but especially paranormal TV shows (call me a dork, I don’t care.) Well, my hands-down favorite paranormal show is Destination Fear. But I’m super bummed to say that Destination Fear has been canceled! That is, I was super bummed until I heard that the Destination Fear crew – Dakota Laden, Chelsea Laden, Tanner Wiseman & Alex Schroeder – are launching an all-new show titled Project Fear, upcoming on YouTube later this year!! 😀
Project Fear Kickstarter

So the Destination / Project Fear Crew has set up a Project Fear Kickstarter to raise money for producing & funding their new show. Personally, I’m absolutely stoked the new show will be on YouTube where the crew will have total creative freedom & swearing won’t have to be beeped out. Not to mention, most of what I watch is on YouTube anyway.
About Destination Fear & Project Fear
From what it sounds like, Project Fear will follow the same format as Destination Fear. If you haven’t seen the show, basically in a nutshell: the Destination / Project Fear Crew take long road trips in an RV, stopping at abandoned haunted locations all over the country.
The premise is that the show is basically an experimentation in fear- how fear affects people and as Dakota says, “what it says about our true selves.” They visit abandoned locations like old hospitals, decaying insane asylums, horribly creepy old prisons & penitentiaries- you get the gist. Then they spend the night there. They usually explore the location for awhile but then they all split up to sleep alone in the creepiest four areas of said location. Over the 48 episodes of Destination Fear, they collected a staggering amount of evidence in my opinion. Much more evidence than in any of the other paranormal TV shows I watch.
Basically, it’s just a fun, freaky show starring very cool, totally normal & down to earth group of lifelong friends.
Trail to Terror: The Original Documentary
The show Destination Fear was formed after Dakota Laden’s original documentary, titled Trail to Terror. In the doc, Dakota brings his sister Chelsea and friends Tanner and Coalin on a five day road trip across America. Each night, they stay at a different abandoned, haunted location. Locations visited include Ashmore Estates, St. Albans Sanatorium and the infamously atrocious decaying Pennhurt Asylum. The documentary was scary as hell. Trail to Terror lead to Travel Channel giving Dakota his own show, Destination Fear. Watch an extended clip from the Trail to Terror documentary below.
