1. The Best 100 Opening Lines from Books

This is a great feature from the site stylist.co.uk. It’s design is clean & elegantly done, not to mention the quotes are perfect.
The Bell Jar, Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Choke, Slaughterhouse Five, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas– great inspiration. Catcher & The Rye was listed first…

“If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you’ll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don’t feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth.”

The Catcher in the Rye, JD Salinger

2. WDYL.com (What Do You Love?.com)

Great site. Of course it’s through Google. Simple: enter something you love in the search box & you get all kinds of results, from translators, to books to pictures & news etc.

3. Calvin & Hobbes Snowman Gallery

Awesome. I have a somewhat strange love for snowmen in general, but especially for drawing and painting snowmen cartoons. Pretty awesome dark humor type of cartooning fun. Click here for the site.

4. Doggelganger.co.nz

This is a pretty awesome way of going about matching up hopeful dog owners with dogs in need of homes. I have to say, I wasn’t surprised when a basset hound was not my result. Great use of web marketing, via Pedigree Adoption Drive.co.nz. Check it out!

5. Van Gogh by JK Potter

There are no words for how sweet this is. I would suspect Van Gogh would probably dig it. Some great art by JK Potter.
