Okay, so admittedly, I’m not always the sharpest crayon in the box. What? Anyway, I recently designed a print advertisement for News Radio 980 KMBZ. I don’t usually do much for that station as it’s technically my coworkers station to run. But i was excited to do a print design again, because it had been awhile for sure. (See below.)
Anyway, long story short: got an email from my Program Director that he’d received about copyright infringement. WHAT?! Jesus. I am scared shitless of a few things when it comes to design, the two biggest being: pixelation & copyright infringement. Ugh. Just tell me i have terminal cancer, it would probably get a more positive response from me than if you were to tell me i was losing my job for using an image i didn’t have rights to.
HOWEVER. Group huddle with the digital coworkers basically proved that yes, this image was public domain, copyright was NOT renewed, & that no, i would more than likely NOT be going to jail for stealing an old ass image of Albert Einstein for a republican news radio station.
